More details emerge from a fight complaint arrest in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Josh Scott along with Deputy John Inman arrested James Forbes age 48 of Laurel Lake Rd. North, London on Monday morning December 14, 2015 at approximately 8:19 AM.

The arrest occurred off Locust Grove Road approximately 6 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a fight complaint there.

Upon arrival deputies determined that this subject was under the influence. He was located standing near a motorcycle at the scene. A dark colored pickup was in the ditch nearby.

Deputies also learned through their investigation that apparently a light blue colored pickup truck had allegedly been used to ram vehicles during the dispute between several individuals. A dark-colored pickup was located stuck in the ditch there that had apparently been struck during the dispute.

Deputy John Inman, while en route to assist on this complaint had encountered a yellow colored ATV driven by a male juvenile that fled from Deputy Inman when he attempted a traffic stop on it.

James Forbes was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and was lodged in the Laurel County detention Center.

Later in the morning, Kentucky State police were called to check on an abandoned light blue pickup truck on Ralley road in the Keavy area – it was determined that this pickup truck was the one used earlier in the day on Locust Grove Road during the dispute where this truck allegedly rammed other vehicles there. This light blue pickup truck has been impounded for the Laurel County Sheriff's office.

A short time later, deputies received information on the yellow ATVs location, and deputies traveled to that area and conducted a traffic stop on a black colored pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old male juvenile suspect from the earlier incident on Locust Grove Road.

An investigation was conducted where deputies determined the location of the yellow ATV four wheeler that had fled from deputies earlier, and deputies traveled to that location on Laurel Lake Rd. North and located the yellow ATV impounding it at a residence and taking the 17-year-old male juvenile into custody.

The juvenile was charged with Fleeing and Evading Police-2nd degree-motor vehicle, and Operating an ATV on the Roadway, and numerous other traffic offenses.

The investigation being conducted by deputies was related to suspicious subjects possibly involved in some area thefts. That investigation is continuing.

James Forbes was lodged in the Laurel County detention Center.
