Mother and daughter arrested after stabbing incident in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Shawn Jackson arrested Dustin Napier age 25 of Baker Ridge Road, Keavy early Tuesday morning December 15, 2015 at approximately 4:15 AM.

The arrest occurred off Baker Ridge Road, approximately 10 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint there. When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they determined that this subject was under the influence. This subject stated she had taken Nurontin, Suboxone, and Klonopin.

Deputies learned that an altercation had taken place at the residence and that this subject's brother had a puncture wound as a result. When arrested this subject became combative and began banging her head on the kitchen table screaming and cursing deputies as she was assisted to the patrol car. A knife was later recovered.

Dustin Napier was charged with assault – second degree; disorderly conduct – second degree; menacing; and resisting arrest. This subject was also charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding charges of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and criminal trespassing – second-degree. This subject was taken to the hospital for treatment of possible injuries self inflicted, and will be lodged in jail when released.

Also arrested at the scene was Kimberly Wilder age 50 of Wise Owl Road., Keavy charged with abstract and obstructing governmental operations; tampering with physical evidence; resisting arrest; and terroristic threatening – third-degree. This subject is the mother of the two adult children that were involved in an altercation where allegedly the daughter stabbed her brother.

Kimberly Wilder allegedly attempted to remove and hide the knife that was involved in the altercation. When arrested this subject refused to get into the police cruiser and while being booked allegedly threatened arresting deputies. Wilder was also charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence second offense. This subject was also lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
