(Harlan, Ky.) – On January 1, 2016 Trooper Andy Soltess was involved in a traffic accident while responding to an emergency complaint.
As Trooper Soltess approached the intersection of US 421 and KY 72, he swerved to avoid a vehicle that crossed into his lane of travel and struck a stationary vehicle on Ky 72.
Trooper Soltess and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to Harlan ARH, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Lieutenant Randy Surber responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation.
