Injury Collision in Bell County

(Page, KY.) – On January 6, 2016, at 12:51 A.M., Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan, received a call about a two vehicle collision on US 119 in the Page Community of Bell County. Troopers from Post 10 responded to the collision.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a green 1999 Sterling log truck operated by Nathan Cornett, 34, of Pineville, was attempting to make a left turn off US 119 onto Boss Bingham Road. A 1991 red Chevrolet S-10, operated by James Fields, 48, of Cumberland, was traveling North on US 119 and struck the back of the log truck. Mr. Fields and his passenger, Donna Fields, 51 of Cumberland, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Their conditions are not known at this time. Mr. Cornett was not injured.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected. US 119 was closed for approximately two hours and has since reopened.

Collision is still under investigation by TFC. Keith Baker. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Captain PJ Burnett, Tpr. Roy Pace and Tpr. Don Perry. Also assisting was Bell County Fire Department, Bell County Rescue Squad, Bell County EMS and Bell County Sheriff’s Department.
