KSP-Vehicle Enforcement Recovers Stolen Vehicle

(London, KY) -  On Wednesday, January 6th, 2015, at around 10 P.M., Officer Rob Mitchell with KSP Vehicle Enforcement conducted a traffic stop on KY 80, 3 miles west of London, after observing a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

After speaking to the operator and through investigation, Officer Mitchell determined that Marty K. Hicks, 45, of London, was operating a 2007 Chevy Cobalt that was reported stolen by KSP Post 11 London.

Further investigation found Hicks to be operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs and in possession of Methamphetamine.

Hicks was arrested without incident and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Charges included Speeding, DUI, Possession Controlled Substances (Methamphetamine) and Receiving Stolen Property U/$10,000-Auto.

Officer Rob Mitchell continues the investigation.
