Burglary arrest on wanted subject in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson and Court Security Officer Ethan Lewis arrested Shasta Couch, age 35, of Hazel Patch Rd., East Bernstadt, early Sunday morning, January 17, 2016, at approximately 3:50 AM.

The arrest occurred on KY. 1376 E., approximately 6 miles north of London after this subject was located walking along the roadway and an investigation determined that she was a wanted subject.

Shasta Couch was charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest sworn out by Laurel County Sheriff's Deputy Rick Cloyd in regards to a burglary that he investigated on Hazel Patch Road on December 16, 2015, where allegedly jewelry and tools were stolen from a residence and considerable damage was also done to the victim's property.

Shasta Couch was charged on warrants of arrest charging burglary – second-degree; and criminal mischief – third-degree.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of public intoxication – controlled substances and contempt of court.
