Clay County resident found deceased


Clay County, Ky. - A well known, well liked former Curry Branch resident was discovered dead early Saturday morning February 6, 2016 at the home of a friend he was visiting in the Beech Creek area of Clay County.

Stanley Cottrell age 58 was found dead early this morning.

According to family members, Stanley had been suffering from depression since the recent death of his wife Teresa.

They say he was a retired bulldozer operator that was always willing to help others & was loved by many and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Reportedly, Stanley had been complaining earlier of of pain in his throat where he had recently undergone surgery for cancer.

According to Clay County Coroner Danny Finley, Stanley's passing was reported at 2:10 A.M. Saturday morning and that the cause of death is pending review of medical records and a toxicology report.

No foul play is suspected.
