Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective Jason Back along with the Laurel County Sheriff's Office Special Response Unit (S.R.U.), and Sheriff's deputies arrested three individuals off Laurel Lake Rd. North, approximately 8 miles west of London, early Friday morning, February 19, 2016, at approximately 1:14 AM.
The arrests occurred after Sheriff John Root received a complaint concerning illegal drug activity in that area and he assigned his special response unit to conduct surveillance in that area.
After enough information was gathered, a search warrant was obtained by the Sheriff's Office and executed at that residence. Sheriff's deputies located crystal methamphetamine, a large amount of marijuana, digital scales, glass pipes used for smoking crystal methamphetamine, and US currency.
Deputies arrested:
• Michael Loudermilk, age 29, of Laurel Lake Rd., North, London charging him with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; trafficking in marijuana first offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest obtained by Deputy Rick Cloyd charging escape third-degree and fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot – this subject fled from Sheriff's deputies when told he was being arrested on outstanding warrants on an earlier date. This subject was charged on a Pulaski County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding numerous traffic violations. This subject was also charged on a McCreary County warrant of arrest charging flagrant nonsupport after allegedly owing arrearage of more than $5000.
• Matthew Powell, age 30, of Auger Springs Rd., Corbin charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; trafficking in marijuana first offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Natosha Caldwell, age 27, of Laurel Lake Rd., North, London charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on numerous traffic violations.

Sheriff Root stated that the investigation will be continuing off Laurel Lake Road North, Johnny Karr Hill, and Creek Hill with additional arrests pending. Investigations into illegal drug activities continue on a daily basis by the Laurel County Sheriff's office.

In addition, KSP/CVE Officer Landry Collett and his k-9 dog assisted.
