Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested two individuals on Sunday night February 21, 2016 at approximately 7:45 PM.
The arrests occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained two individuals.
When Deputy Cloyd arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that two individuals had allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for over $51 worth of merchandise.
A male subject being investigated gave two false names before finally correctly identifying himself – this subject was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

In addition, this subject was charged on an outstanding Whitley County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding charges of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting, endangering the welfare of a minor, and public intoxication – controlled substances.
