LSO make DUI arrest on South Lily Road


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Travis Napier arrested a male subject of Middleground Way, London, early Saturday morning, February 27, 2016, at approximately 1 AM.

Arrested was Richard Hammons, age 32.  The arrest occurred off South Lily Rd. approximately 6 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject apparently passed out in his gray colored GMC Sierra pickup at a business there.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they observed this subject apparently passed out slumped over the steering wheel with the keys in the ignition. Deputies were able to awaken this subject and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.

Once arrested, this subject created a disturbance cursing deputies and creating a scene at the business parking lot there. Richard Hammons was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense and other traffic violations and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
