DUI and EBT card arrest - Laurel County


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray arrested a female subject of East Laurel Rd., London, early Monday morning, March 14, 2016, at approximately 12:50 AM.

The arrest occurred at a service station parking lot on Highway 192 in London after Deputy Gray pulled into the service station to gas up his police vehicle when he observed this subject stumble out of the driver's seat of a Mercury vehicle, and conducted an investigation determining that this subject was under the influence – this subject admitted taking several different pills earlier in the day.

Rachel Leah Spears was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; and other traffic violations. Deputy Gray also found this subject in possession of an EBT card belonging to another individual. She advised that she had used the card within the last two weeks.

This subject was charged with knowingly fraudulently using ID card or electronic code for benefits. Rachel Leah Spears was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Photo attached is courtesy all the Laurel County Detention Center.
