Three arrested in southern Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Tommy Houston arrested three individuals off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 11 miles south of London, early Tuesday morning, March 29, 2016, at approximately 3:54 AM.

The arrests occurred after deputies were dispatched to a complaint regarding a subject at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County that appeared to be under the influence.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a female subject driving a white colored Nissan vehicle that ran two stop signs and one red light before deputies were able to get the vehicle stopped.

An investigation was conducted on the driver - she was determined to be under the influence - she admitted to taking Suboxone, Xanax, and Neurotin.

Arrested was Ashley Jackson, 36, of Bryants Way, London.  She was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; disregarding a stop sign; possession of open alcoholic beverage container motor vehicle prohibited; possession of a controlled substance; and other traffic violations.

Also arrested was a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Derek Mullins, age 21, of Robinson Creek Rd., London.  He was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances and disorderly conduct – second-degree.

When arrested, this subject created a disturbance cursing deputies. This subject was also found to be wanted on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of giving an officer false name or address; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of drug paraphernalia; and intent to defraud/scheme/artifice to obtain benefits.

Also arrested was a third subject in the vehicle identified as Cynthia Mullins, age 47, of Copley Rd., Lily, charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; criminal trespassing – third-degree; disorderly conduct – second-degree; and menacing.

When this subject was arrested, this subject became disruptive and created a disturbance cursing deputies until lodged in jail. She had been banned from Walmart.
