KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Owsley County

(Booneville, KY) — The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that happened on Highway 30 approximately 5 miles east of Booneville, just before 9:30 pm Tuesday night.

The initial investigation indicates that Dusty B. Stamper, 35 years old of Booneville was walking west on KY-30, and was struck by Chevy pickup truck operated by Donnie Coomer, 61 years old of Georgetown. Stamper was transported by EMS to the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, where he was pronounced deceased by the Breathitt County Coroner.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Zach Pennington. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, EMS, and the Owsley County Sheriff’s Office.
