FRANKFORT, KY. --- Five new officers joined the ranks of the Kentucky State Police
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) Division on April 1, 2016, after graduating from
22 weeks of basic training at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training
in Richmond.
New KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers include (left to right) Kalin
Caudill, Jacob Vanover, Bradley Calhoun, Dwight Isaac, Jr. and Jon Bledsoe.
The 888 hours of training, which is mandatory for Kentucky law enforcement officers
to comply with the state's Peace Officer Professional Standards Act of 1998,
included instruction in areas such as homeland security, law offenses and
procedures, vehicle operations, firearms, investigations, first aid/CPR, patrol
procedures, orientation for new law enforcement families and mechanics of arrest,
restraint and control.
Jon L. Bledsoe, a Harlan resident, was commissioned as a Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Officer I and assigned to CVE Region 4 in London. A 2011 graduate of
Walter State Community College in Morristown, Tenn., he is the son of John and Tammy
Bledsoe of New Tazewell, Tenn.
Bradley J. Calhoun, a Kite resident, was commissioned as a Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Officer I and assigned to CVE Region 6 in Pikeville. A 2011 graduate of
Knott Co. Central High School and 2015 graduate of Hazard Community and Technical
College, he is the son of Vincent and Thelma Calhoun of Kite, Ky.
Kalin L. Caudill, a Pine Top resident, was commissioned as a Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Officer I and assigned to CVE Region 1 in Henderson. A 2012 graduate of
Knott Co. Central High School, he is the son of Dale and Terrena Caudill of Pine
Top, Ky.
Dwight Isaac, Jr., a Vicco resident, was commissioned as a Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Officer I and assigned to CVE Region 6 in Pikeville. A 2008 graduate of
Knott Co. Central High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Northwestern
Ohio, he is the son of Dwight and Falicia Isaac of Vicco, Ky.
Jacob A. Vanover, a Parkers Lake resident, was commissioned as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer I and assigned to CVE Region 4 in London. A 2010 graduate of McCreary Central High School and a 2013 graduate of Somerset Community College, he is the son of Ralph and Fonda Vanover of Parkers Lake, Ky.
