DUI arrest at crash in Laurel County


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Shannon Jones arrested a male subject of E. Hwy. 3094, East Bernstadt, early Saturday morning April 2, 2016, at approximately 12:02 AM.

Arrested was Brian Harris, age 35.  The arrest occurred on Wildcat Happy Hollow Road, approximately 14 miles north of London after this subject allegedly wrecked his truck on Hazel Patch and fled the scene.

Deputies located this subject a short distance away trying to gain entrance to someone's house and detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from this subject.

An investigation was conducted and the subject was determined to be under the influence – he admitted to drinking and admitted to wrecking and leaving the scene of the crash.  This subject stated he had been in a fight with his girlfriend.

Brian Harris was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited; failure of the owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; no registration plates; leaving the scene of an accident and other traffic violations.
