Nine-month-old infant removed from home in Laurel County


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray along with Deputy Charlie Johnson arrested a female subject of Willie Green Rd., London, on Sunday night, April 3, 2016, at approximately 8 PM.

Arrested was Emily Taylor, age 39.  The arrest occurred off Willie Green Road, approximately 4 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a possible intoxicated mother at her residence with two juveniles.

When deputies arrived at the scene, the front door of the residence was standing open and deputies located this subject, who appeared to be intoxicated, with her nine-month-old daughter.

Deputies conducted an investigation and determined that this subject was under the influence – she admitted to taking Suboxone and other unknown pills.

In addition, deputies learned through investigation that there was no electricity or water at the residence – this subject stated that the utilities had been turned off for about two days.

Food had already ruined inside the refrigerator and there was garbage and other items thrown all over the residence. 5 gallon buckets were being used as a toilet.

Emily Taylor was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication – controlled substances. Social services was called to the scene to assist with the investigation and placed the nine-month-old child with a relative.
