Domestic violence complaint results in multiple charges by LSO


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Jamie Grimes arrested a male subject of Maplesville School Road early Wednesday morning, April 6, 2016, at approximately 12:37 AM.

Arrested was Wesley Simpson, 24.  The arrest occurred off Maplesville School Road approximately 6 miles east of London after deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence complaint there.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies were met by a female subject and conducted an investigation and learned that her son had allegedly charged at his mother in an aggressive manner causing her to fear for her life.

When deputies entered the residence, they noted damaged property inside the residence and a male subject that appeared to be extremely intoxicated.

Deputies were told that he had been smoking synthetic marijuana and had no recollection of charging at his mother and damaging the property inside the residence.

Wesley Simpson was charged with disorderly conduct – second degree; menacing; criminal mischief – third-degree; and public intoxication – controlled substances.
