(Harlan, Ky) - On April 7, 2016 members of the Appalachia Narcotics Investigation Unit along with Troopers from KSP Post 10 and Deputies from the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at K&J Grab and Bag in the Tacky Town area of Harlan County.
Simultaneously, another search warrant was executed at a residence in the Walls End area of Pineville by members of Appalachia Narcotics Investigations Unit along with Pineville Police, the Bell County Sheriff’s Department’s Canine Unit and Kentucky State Police Post 10.
These search warrants come after months long investigations into marijuana trafficking. Money, guns, property and drugs were seized from both locations. The investigation is ongoing.
Appalachia Narcotics Investigations is a multi-agency unit consisting of narcotics detectives from the Kentucky State Police, Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, Bell County Sheriff’s Office and Pineville Police Department.
