Vehicle pursuit leads to arrest of London man


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested a male subject of East Laurel Rd., London, on Wednesday night, April 13, 2016, at approximately 10:28 PM.

Arrested was Eddie Cobb age, 36.  The arrest occurred on KY 3431, approximately 9 miles south of London after Sgt. Parrott, while on routine patrol, clocked a blue colored Dodge Ram pickup traveling 27 mph over the speed limit.

When Sgt. Parrott made his turnabout in an attempt to stop the vehicle, Sgt. Parrott had to pursue the vehicle for approximately 1 mile before the vehicle pulled into the driveway of a vacant house and stopped.

As the driver exited his vehicle, Sgt. Parrott observed him to be apparently an impaired driver.

Eddie Cobb was charged with speeding more than 26 miles over the speed limit; operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; operating on suspended or revoked operator's license; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle.

In addition, during the traffic stop, this subject was found to be in possession of Suboxone taped up with black tape, two straws and a glass pipe.

Laurel Sheriff's Detective James Sizemore assisted on the investigation.

Eddie Cobb was also charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Eddie Cobb was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
