Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shannon Jones was dispatched to a complaint that a woman who was unknown to area residents was in their backyard early Saturday morning, April 16, 2016, at approximately 1:42 AM on Sampson Lane approximately 10 miles south of London.
When Deputy Jones arrived at the scene, he located a female subject who appeared to be under the influence and detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from her.
An investigation was conducted and the subject was determined to be under the influence.
Arrested was Allene Poppino, age 64, of Oak Pl., Village Apartments, Corbin, charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.
In addition, the subject was wanted on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place.
This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
