Six Arrested in Meth Lab Where a Child Was Found Present

(Munfordville, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received a call Friday, April 15, 2016 requesting a welfare check to be done on a female and her child.

At approx 8:27 am on Friday Troopers responded to 8500 Cub Run Highway in Hart County in reference to this call.

Through the course of the investigation an active meth lab and an indoor marijuana grow was discovered along with suspected methamphetamine and some firearms. A three year old boy was also present inside the residence when Troopers arrived. Social Services responded to the scene upon request of the units and removed the child where he was taken to be examined at the hospital.

Six people were arrested and lodged in the Hart County Jail and charged with the following charges:

  • Controlled Substance Endangerment to Child, 4th Degree
  • Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor 1st Offense

  • Danielle Decker (18) of Munfordville

  • Manufacturing Meth 1st Offense
  • Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Meth)
  • Controlled Substance Endangerment to Child, 4th Degree
  • Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor 1st Offense

  • Laura Bennett (24) of Munfordville

  • Manufacturing Meth 1st Offense
  • Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Meth)
  • Controlled Substance Endangerment to Child, 4th Degree
    Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor 1st Offense

  • Jacob Staples (30) of Munfordville

  • The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Justin Rountree. He was assisted on scene by Troopers Jonathan McChesney and Randy Chambers, KSP Drug Enforcement Detective Brad Harper, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Nick Pruitt, and the Hart County Social Services.
