Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Brett Reeves along with Capt. Chuck Johnson arrested a male subject of Highway 1394, East Bernstadt, on Monday morning, April 25, 2016, at approximately 10:51 AM.
The arrest occurred off Rough Creek Road, approximately 9 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a criminal mischief complaint on Cane Creek Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies learned from a female victim that Ricky Peters had allegedly broke out the window of her mother's residence, and then stole a vehicle belonging to another subject.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect Ricky Peters on KY 830. The stolen vehicle was found wrecked on a gravel road next to Tuttle Cemetery Road and it had several windows broke out of it and several dents in the body. Ricky Peters admitted to taking the vehicle and causing the damages to the car as a result of an argument with the female victim earlier.
Ricky Peters was charged with theft by unlawful taking – auto; and criminal mischief – first-degree and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Photo attached is courtesy of the Laurel County Detention Center.
