London man arrested for criminal mischief among other charges


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Jamie Grimes along with Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested a male subject of Little Pittsburgh Rd., London, on Wednesday night, April 27, 2016, at approximately 8:18 PM.

Arrested was Christopher Johnson, age 32.  The arrest occurred off East Pittsburgh Church Rd., approximately 2 miles east of London after deputies were dispatched to a trespass complaint there at a KU electric substation.

Deputy Cloyd, who was first on scene, located this subject inside a fenced in and gated electric substation. Deputies conducted an investigation and learned that this subject had allegedly been observed breaking into the chain link fenced in the area by cutting a hole in it and walking around inside the fenced in area.

This subject stated that he had saw some items laying on the ground inside the fence and was going to take them. This subject had caused damage to the fence and was not authorized to be inside the private property.

Christopher Johnson was charged with criminal mischief – second degree; and criminal trespassing – second-degree.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of receiving stolen property under $500.

Also, this subject was charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operators license.
