KSP Charges Jackson Co. Man With Crimes Related To Child Sexual Exploitation

(Annville, Ky.)— A Jackson County man was arrested on charges related to child sexual exploitation Thursday after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home.

David W. Ledford, 29, is charged with 10 counts of distribution and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison.

Ledford was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Detectives with the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch began investigating after observing Ledford sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. This included images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Ledford’s residence on Thursday, May 5, 2016, by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. Troopers from KSP Post 7-Richmond assisted on scene. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s Forensic Laboratory for examination.
