Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested a Leslie County man early Friday morning May 6, 2016 at approximately 3:16 AM.
Arrested was:
Abijah Jones age 35 Of Bluebird Lane, Hyden, KY. The arrest occurred off Highway 192 in London after this subject pulled his white colored Pontiac G6 next to Sgt. Parrott's patrol car at a business off Highway 192 to talk to Sgt. Parrott about an earlier incident he had allegedly been involved in.
This subject told Sgt. Parrott that he had been drinking and that he was intoxicated. Sgt. Parrott then conducted an investigation on this driver and determined that he was under the influence.
Abijah Jones was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense. In addition, this subject was also charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on a traffic violation.
This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
