Traffic stop by LSO Deputy results in multiple charges


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Dale Madden age 35 of Robert E Cox Road Apartments, Corbin early Friday morning May 6, 2016 at approximately 12:40 AM.

The arrest occurred off Robert E Cox Road, approximately 10 miles south of London after Sgt. Parrott conducted a traffic stop on a silver colored Toyota Tacoma.

During the traffic stop, Sgt. Parrott was told by the driver that he had a suspended operator's license. Sgt. Parrott stated in his report that this subject appeared to be intoxicated so he conducted an investigation and was advised by the driver that he had taken Hydrocodone, Percocet, and smoked Marijuana. Sgt. Parrott determined that this subject was under the influence.

During the arrest Sgt. Parrott found this subject in possession of Neurotin, Hydrocodone, and Xanax. In addition, he also found this subject in possession of Oxycodone with another subject's name on the container. Sgt. Parrott also located two pistols both fully loaded and concealed under the driver's seat.

Dale Madden was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; operating on suspended or revoked operator's license; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance – third-degree; carrying concealed weapon by a prior deadly weapon felony offender; prescription controlled substance is not in proper container – first offense; and other traffic violations.

Dale Madden was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
