Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested two individuals at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County on Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2016, at approximately 2:30 PM.
The arrests occurred after Walmart's loss prevention team detained two individuals. When Deputy Cloyd arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, he learned that two individuals had allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for $220.42 worth of merchandise.
Arrested was Samantha Skaggs, age 20, of Johnson Hollow Road, Gray, Kentucky, and Sidney Hall, age 23, of Hancock Ave., Corbin, both individuals charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
