FRANKFORT, Ky. – Voters can recognize Kentucky veterans’ service by casting their ballots in their honor during Tuesday’s Primary, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes announced yesterday. She is reminding Kentuckians to participate in her office’s “Vote in Honor of a Veteran” program.
Our Commonwealth is the home of more than 300,000 veterans. We should take every opportunity to show our respect and gratitude for the sacrifices they have made to protect our rights – especially the right to vote,” said Grimes, Kentucky’s chief election official.
Voters can request a “Vote in Honor of a Veteran” button from their county clerk or the Secretary of State’s office. The button can be personalized to include the name of a veteran the voter will honor by casting a ballot. Voters can also submit online tributes to the veterans they are honoring. Grimes is passionate about supporting Kentucky’s active-duty and veteran military members and their families. As Secretary of State, Grimes has advocated on a range of military and veterans issues from voting to job and business opportunities.
