Subject wanted on several warrants gives LSO Deputies 2 incorrect names is indentified by prescription medications in her possession


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Shannon Jones arrested Anita McCune age 48 of McKeehan Crossing Rd., Corbin early Tuesday morning June 7, 2016 at approximately 5:08 AM.

The arrest occurred of West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 11 miles south of London after deputies received a complaint that a subject had driven a red Nissan to a business in North Corbin and was passed out and possibly intoxicated.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they determined that the driver was under the influence. This subject admitted to taking methamphetamine, Suboxone, Gabapintin, and other drugs. This subject gave deputies 2 incorrect names, however deputies were able to determine her identity by her prescription medications in her possession.

Anita McCune was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; giving officer a false name or address; disorderly conduct – second-degree; no operator's license; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense. In addition this subject was charged on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances.

Also the subject was charged on a Whitley County Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense. This subject was charged on a third Whitley County Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
