Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Misty Johnson age 34 Of Adams Rd., Corbin on Sunday evening June 12, 2016 at approximately 5:45 PM.
The arrest occurred off Ky 770, approximately 10 miles south of London after Deputy Cloyd was dispatched to a complaint of a possible DUI driver that had pulled into the Dollar General store with three young children in her white colored Ford F150.
When Deputy Cloyd arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he determined that this subject was under the influence. In addition Deputy Cloyd found this subject in possession of $60 worth of merchandise from the Dollar General store that she had concealed and loaded into her vehicle without paying for the items.
When arrested this individual resisted and had to be escorted to the police car. Social Services was notified concerning the neighbor's children in the vehicle and the children were taken home.
It was also determined that this subject was wanted on 5 outstanding bench warrants of arrest.
Misty Johnson was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; three booster seat violation citations; license to be in possession; and theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting, a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances, a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for leaving rehab and failure to return to jail on charges of disorderly conduct – second-degree assault third-degree – police officer is victim and contempt of court, a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for leaving rehab and failing to comply with order on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances and contempt of court, a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operator's license and failure to wear seatbelts, and a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of criminal mischief – third-degree and assault – fourth degree.
