Two arrests in robbery / shooting incident on Taylor Bridge Road - Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Detective Kevin Berry along with Detective Jason Back and Detective James Sizemore on Friday evening June 17, 2016 at approximately 6 PM charged 2 individuals with the robbery/shooting of Trey Hedrick which occurred off Taylor Bridge Road, approximately 5 miles south of London on Friday night June 10, 2016 at approximately 6:30 PM.

The arrests were the result of a thorough investigation conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's office along with tips and leads developed. On Friday evening (June 17th) deputies traveled to Lexington, Kentucky and were assisted by the US marshals service, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and Lexington Police Department in the apprehension of 2 suspects that were being sought by the Laurel County Sheriff's office.

Arrested was: Deontae Williams age 19 of Lexington, and also taken into custody was a 16-year-old female juvenile runaway from London, Kentucky both charged with attempted murder; robbery – first-degree; theft by unlawful taking – firearm; and theft by unlawful taking under $500.

Deontae Williams was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. The 16-year-old female juvenile was transported to the juvenile detention facility in Breathitt County and detained.

Also assisting on this case were: Laurel Sheriff's Office Cpl. Jack Caudill, Bailiff Robert Reed, and CSO Callie Robinson.

Investigation is continuing – an additional arrest is expected.
