Clay County man behind bars facing multiple charges in Laurel Co.


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Tommy Houston arrested a Clay County resident early Sunday morning June 19, 2016 at approximately 5:18 AM.

Arrested was Stacy Q. Jackson age 37 of Ole Field Branch Road, Manchester.

The arrest occurred on Jackson Fariston Road approximately 2 miles south of London after Deputy Houston conducted a traffic stop on a silver colored Dodge Caravan that was tailgating him as he drove through Levi Jackson State Park, and then the vehicle passed Deputy Houston and made a wide turn, turning onto Jackson Fariston Road taking up both lanes of the roadway.

When Deputy Houston made contact with the driver he had extremely slurred speech and pinpoint pupils and appeared to be under the influence. The driver stated he had taken neurotin prior to the traffic stop.

Deputy Houston conducted an investigation on the driver determining that he was under the influence. Deputy Houston found this subject in possession of a small container that had various pills inside it.

Stacy Q. Jackson was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; disregarding a stop sign; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; failure to wear seatbelts; and prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense.

Stacy Q. Jackson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

According to jail records, Jackson is being held on a $2,500.00 cash bond with a court date set for 9:30 AM on July 5, 2016.
