Traffic Crash with Fatality in Clay County


(LONDON, KY.) – On Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at approximately 6:34 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a single vehicle traffic crash on US 421 in Clay County.

Upon arrival Trooper Josh Wilson determined that a 2004 Ford Taurus, operated by Michael L. Harris, 60, of Manchester was traveling on US 421 when the single vehicle crash occurred. Harris was trapped inside the vehicle and had to extricated by mechanical means.

Harris, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clay County Coroner’s Office.

Alcohol and/or drug usage is not suspected.

Trooper Wilson is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by the Burning Springs Fire Department and the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
