KSP Charges Oldham Co. Man With Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses


La Grange, Ky. (June 24, 2016)— On June 23, 2016, at approximately 10:25 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by Post 5-Campbellsburg, arrested Daniel C. Swart, 39, on charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Swart was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Crestwood on June 23, 2016. Information obtained from the warrant and further investigation led to Swart, a current resident of La Grange. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Swart is currently charged with six counts of possession and six counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. Additional charges are expected.

Swart was lodged in the Oldham County Detention Center.
