Fatal Crash Wayne County Kentucky


Monticello, Ky. – On Monday June 27th, 2016 around 2 P.M., Sergeant Randy Honeycutt from KSP’s Vehicle Enforcement Division responded four miles east of Monticello, Kentucky to a fatal crash on KY92E involving a commercial motor vehicle in Wayne County, Kentucky.

Upon arrival, officers found a green 1989 Freightliner log truck being operated by 42 year old Timothy Stephens of Stearns, Kentucky had collided head on with a 2001 Acura being operated by 28 year old Timothy E. Gregory of Monticello, Kentucky. Gregory died on scene as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.A passenger, 31 year old Heidi Kennedy of Science Hill, Kentucky was air lifted by PHI-Air Ambulance to the University of Kentucky Hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors and no subjects were wearing seat belts at the time of crash.

Assisting on Scene: KSP/CVE Officers Chris McQueen and David Burton, KSP Trooper Richie Baxter, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Monticello Fire Department, Wayne County EMS, and Wayne County Coroner’s Office.

Sgt. Randy Honeycutt continues the investigation.
