KSP Charges Jackson County Woman with Attempted Murder


ANNVILLE, Ky. (June 29, 2016)— The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called at approximately 9:20 pm on Sunday, June 26th after a Jackson County resident was found inside a residence on Boss Vaughn Road suffering from gunshot wounds.

Cecil Ray Snider, 59 years old of Annville was critically injured after being shot inside his home, and was found several hours later by his wife and neighbors. Snider was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The initial investigation alleges that Elizabeth J. Snider, 32 years old of Annville, shot her husband inside their home on Sunday evening then left the scene. She returned home a few hours later with some neighbors to find her husband still alive.

Elizabeth denied any involvement in the shooting, and over the next three days KSP investigators followed up on leads and conducted multiple interviews trying to determine who shot Mr. Snider.

As a result of their investigation, Elizabeth Snider was arrested yesterday afternoon and is now in the Jackson County Detention Center charged with Attempted Murder. A motive and events that led to the shooting are still under investigation by KSP Detective Tye Chavies.
