What Clay County man admitted to LSO deputies during investigation


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Daniel Grigsby arrested a Manchester man on Saturday night July 2, 2016 at approximately 10:29 PM.

Arrested was:

Gillis Bowling age 27 of Morgan Heights, Manchester, KY. The arrest occurred off Pine Top road, approximately 4 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that this subject was causing problems at a residence on Brock Lane and had apparently driven his truck into a ditch there.

When deputies arrived at the scene and located the driver of a silver colored Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, they conducted an investigation and determined that this subject was under the influence – this subject admitted to smoking methamphetamine, marijuana and taking a host of other illegal drugs.

When arrested and placed in the police cruiser this subject began to kick the protective screen and kicked the side window protectors, yelling and cursing and creating a disturbance.

Gillis Bowling was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense, failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense, no registration plates, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct – second-degree, criminal mischief – third-degree, and prescription controlled substance is not in proper container – first offense.

The subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
