Fatal collision investigation / Pulaski County


Pulaski County - According to Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck, at approximately12:10 pm on July 7th, 2016 deputies responded to a 911 dispatch of an injury accident on South Highway 27 near Loop 3.

Upon arrival at the scene Sergeant Jon Williams and Deputy Jordan Walters found two vehicles involved in the accident.

Preliminary indications were that Billy Vanover, age 33 of Somerset, Kentucky was northbound on Highway 27 driving a blue 1998 Ford Escort. His vehicle crossed into the southbound lane colliding head on with a 1997 Toyota four door automobile operated by Charles E. Graves, age 40 of Waynesburg, Kentucky.

After extrication from his vehicle by the Pulaski County Rescue Squad, Charles E. Graves was pronounced dead at the scene by Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk.

Billy Vanover was treated at the scene by Pulaski County EMS and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The investigation of the accident is continuing by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

Assisting the Sheriff's Office at the scene were volunteers of the Tateville Fire Department and the Pulaski County Rescue Squad.
