Perry County man leads LSO deputy on 1/2 mile foot chase

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested two individuals off White Oak Road, approximately 7 miles west of London on Wednesday night July 13, 2016 at approximately 8:22 PM.

The arrests occurred after Sgt. Parrott was dispatched to investigate a complaint where a female subject allegedly phoned 911 on three separate occasions and hung up. On the last phone call, the female subject advised that she had been assaulted.

When Sgt. Parrott arrived at the scene he was met by the female subject near the roadway and she advised she was not high. Sgt. Parrott determined that she was very intoxicated on methamphetamine and finally learned that she had not been assaulted after she stated she had made it up so deputies would respond to the scene.

While there Sgt. Parrott learned that apparently a male subject in the residence was trespassing there. When Sgt. Parrott went to the front door of the residence, the male subject fled out the back door and after a 1/2 mile foot chase was apprehended. This subject was determined to be intoxicated on methamphetamine and alcohol.

The two individuals arrested are identified as:

  • Sabrina Caldwell age 43 of Ashless Street, Hazard charged with falsely reporting an incident; harassing communications; public intoxication – controlled substances; criminal trespassing – third-degree; and disorderly conduct – second-degree.
  • Joseph Elrod age 42 of Ashless Street, Hazard charged with criminal trespassing – third-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances ; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot.
  • The two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
