Subject threatens LSO deputy – "If you take me to jail then you will lose your life and your family"

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shawn Jackson along with Deputy Shannon Jones arrested Anthony Birnberg age 21 of Lewis Ln., Apartments, London on Thursday night July 14, 2016 at approximately 11:15 PM.

The arrest occurred off Lewis Street, approximately 2 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there. While en route to the scene deputies learned that this subject had allegedly caused a scene, yelling and cursing at his mother because she was trying to get him to go to the hospital.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they noted that this subject was very irritated, acting very aggressive toward his mother and making her feel threatened.

While deputies were at the scene this subject continued to create a disturbance in the neighborhood there. This subject continued to tell deputies – I promise you I am not going to jail.

When arrested, this subject had to be escorted to the police cruiser and threatened the arresting deputy by saying – if you take me to jail then you will lose your life and your family. This subject also stated he had done meth about a week ago that had bad stuff in it and it made him crazy.

Anthony Birnberg was charged with disorderly conduct – second degree; menacing; resisting arrest; and terroristic threatening – third-degree and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
