LONDON, KY—On Tuesday, July 12th London Police responded to a single-vehicle non-injury accident at Laurel Cookie Factory.
Through investigation it was determined that the operator of the vehicle, Mildred A. Collett, 50, of Corbin was under the influence and her passenger, Toni R. Day, 28, of Corbin had an active bench warrant for her arrest.
Collett struck a fence within the Laurel Cookie Factory’s park ing lot then reported to police she was on several medications including Nuerotin and Klonopin. Collett was manifestly under the influence and showed signs of impairment during an administered Standard Field Sobriety Test and HGN.
With consent to search, officers located a pistol, cash, 11.7 grams of methamphetamine, Suboxone, Klonopin, Xanax, several plastic bags and a digital scale. While officers placed Day under arrest, she stated that she had several syringes concealed in her bra. Four syringes were later recovered by female guards at the Laurel County Detention Center.
Officers assisting in the arrest include Ofc. Justin Hopkins and Ofc. Drew Wilson.
Collette was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.
Day was arrested and charged with buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.
Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
