LSO seeking suspects in thefts from cars in Baptist Fitness Center parking lot

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Josh Scott is investigating 2 thefts which occurred at Baptist Fitness Center parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. (U.S. 25 E), approximately 10 miles south of London on Wednesday morning July 20, 2016 at approximately 10 AM.

Deputy Scott reports that apparently two vehicles were broken into after suspects broke out a window of each vehicle – in one vehicle a purse containing credit cards was stolen from a female victim. In the other vehicle, the victim is attempting to make a determination as to what was stolen.

Surveillance cameras at the fitness center show a black female suspect driving what appears to be a grayish silver Nissan SUV and occupied by a black male passenger. The suspects then immediately traveled across the street to First National branch bank ATM machine where they attempted to use a stolen credit card taken from the theft. They were denied access.

Special deputy Elizabeth Sparks who is the branch manager there has provided surveillance photos of the male suspect allegedly involved.

Investigators believe the vehicle had Florida license tags on it. Anyone with any information regarding these thefts is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff's office at 606-864-6600.

Information will be strictly confidential.
