Three arrested in Laurel County with stolen car hauler trailer

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Kyle Gray along with Deputy Brandon Broughton and CSO Brandon McCoy arrested three individuals in a business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Parkway, approximately 10 miles south of London on Monday night July 25, 2016 at approximately 7:40 PM.

The arrest occurred after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that the victim of a car hauler trailer theft had located his trailer in a business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Parkway. When deputies arrived at the scene they learned that the trailer had been reported as stolen from a location in Knox County reported to Knox County Sheriff's office on March 18, 2016.

Deputies arrested three individuals occupying a white colored Toyota Tacoma that was pulling the reported stolen car hauler trailer.

The three individuals are identified as:

  • Billy Wayne Hensley,Jr age age 29 South US 421, Cranks, Kentucky charged with receiving stolen property $500 or more and under $10,000.
  • William Paul Caroll age 35 of Fee Dr., Cawood, Kentucky charged with receiving stolen property $500 or more and under $10,000.
  • Michael Wayne Clayborn age 27 of South US 421, Cranks, Kentucky charged with receiving stolen property $500 or more and under $10,000.
  • All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
