Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting the arrest of 2 suspects allegedly involved in the strong arm robbery of Corner Market, 12 miles south of London off Ky 830 and Ky 1223 on July 26th after information was developed on their whereabouts on Tuesday August 2nd, 2016 at approx. 2:45 P.M.
Sheriff's deputies had been seeking the pair since the robbery where a money bag was taken by force from a store clerk at Corner Market. Sheriff's deputies traveled to a location off Nuway trail, approx. 4 miles east of London and arrested Jason Wells age 37 of Old State Road, Lily without incident at the residence of a relative, charging him with Robbery , 2nd degree- he allegedly grabbed the money bag from the store clerk, and fled in a red and blue Chev. Impala driven by a 2nd suspect.
Deputies then traveled to a location off Ky 80, approx. 2 miles east of London and arrested
Lorie Eversole age 33 of Family Drive, Corbin without incident. She was charged with Complicity to commit Robbery 2nd degree--she allegedly was the lookout who was driving the blue and red Chev. Impala the suspects fled the scene of the robbery in. The car used in the robbery (left) was also recovered at this location.
Lorie Eversole was also charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of shoplifting and public intoxication – controlled substances, a Laurel County bench of arrest for failure to comply with rehab regarding a charge of escape – third-degree, a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on a charge of public intoxication – controlled substances and a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of escape – third-degree.
The case officer, Detective Kevin Berry, along with Detective James Sizemore, and Detective Jason Back coordinated the arrests, and were assisted by Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lt. Greg Poynter, Sgt. Larry Parrott, and Deputy Kyle Gray.
The 2 individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
