Suspicious persons complaint in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Shannon Jones and CSO Brandon McCoy arrested two individuals off Slate Ridge Road, approximately 8 miles south of London after being dispatched to a suspicious persons complaint early Monday morning August 15, 2016 at approximately 6:18 AM.

The arrests occurred after deputies conducted an investigation and determined that the two individuals had outstanding warrants of arrest.

Arrested was:

  • Jacob Brothers age 24 of Farris Jones Rd., East Bernstadt charged with careless driving; failure to wear seatbelts; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited; resisting arrest; disorderly conduct – second degree; menacing; and public intoxication – controlled substances – while being arrested this subject attempted to kick deputies. This subject was also charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operators license and numerous other traffic violations.
  • Matthew Riggs age 31 of Topton Rd., London charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking. In addition, this subject was charged on another Laurel County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances.
  • The two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
