KSP Arrests Two Suspected in Lee County Murder

BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (August 15, 2016) – Personnel from the Kentucky State Police, Richmond and Hazard Posts apprehended two suspects alleged to be involved in the death of Billy Roark that occurred more than a week ago in Lee County. Jay N. Shoemaker, 39 years old of Beattyville, and Raigan D. Griffin, 22 years old of Beattyville were located at residence off of Rock Lick Road in rural Breathitt County and taken into custody just after 6:30 pm today.

Both Shoemaker and Griffin are lodged at the Three Forks Regional Detention Center, charged with Complicity to Commit Murder.

Two additional individuals, Amy Turner, 31 years old of Beattyville, and Alysia Hensley, 33 years old of Beattyville were arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution and are also lodged in the Three Forks Regional Detention Center.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Jesse Armstrong.
