Theft by Unlawful Taking arrest by LSO deputies

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shawn Jackson and Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested two individuals at Pilot Travel center, approximately 10 miles south of London off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. early Wednesday morning August 31, 2016 at approximately 1:01 AM.

The arrest occurred after deputies were dispatched to investigate an alleged shoplifting complaint where apparently one subject - Kenneth Adams was observed taking items not belonging to him. He was seen leaving the store with items concealed on his person. Total value of the theft was $16.

When deputies arrived and conducted an investigation they also found this subject in possession of a switch blade knife concealed and determined that this subject was under the influence.

Another individual in the company of the theft suspect was also arrested after being determined to be under the influence also.

Arrested was:

  • Kenneth Adams age 24 Of Foley Rd., Corbin charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting; carrying a concealed weapon; and public intoxication – controlled substances.
  • Kayla Adams age 24 of Dow Rd., Williamsburg charged with public intoxication – controlled substances.
  • These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
