Armed Juvenile stops Robbery in Progress - LSO Deputies Seeking Suspect

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shawn Boroviak along with Detective Kevin Berry, Detective Kyle Gray, and Lieut. Greg Poynter are investigating a robbery which occurred early Saturday morning September 3, 2016 at approximately 7:30 AM on Highway 3434 approximately 2 1/2 miles north of London.

Apparently, a male subject pried open a backdoor to a residence forcing entry armed with a knife.

A 16-year-old male juvenile who was at the residence while his sister and her husband were at work overheard the subject forcing entry and armed himself with a shotgun. The 16-year-old encountered the suspect twice telling him to drop the knife.

Finally, the suspect dropped the knife, removed his shirt and shoes and fled the scene on foot and has not been located yet.

The suspect is identified as Thomas Scott age 29 possibly Of Chapel Rd., East Bernstadt. Deputies are attempting to locate this subject.
