KSP Announces Temporary Lane Closures on I-75 in Madison County


RICHMOND, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, will be continuing the investigation of a fatal collision that claimed the life of a Louisville resident on I-75 near the 85 mile marker southbound.

On Thursday September 8, 2016 at approximately 9:00 am, the left two lanes of I-75 will temporarily be closed between mile point 84 and 85. All traffic will be utilizing the right lane during the closure, which is expected to last less than two hours.

KSP will be assisted by members of the highway department, and signage will be placed prior to exit 87 notifying drivers of the closure.

All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and
other factors beyond the control of the Kentucky State Police.

RICHMOND, Ky. (August 28, 2016) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that temporarily closed I-75 southbound near the 85 mile marker this afternoon just after 2:00 pm.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2005 Cadillac passenger car and a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by David C. McDowell, 67 years old of Louisville collided while trying to avoid a previous collision near the 85 mile marker on I-75 SB. As a result of the collision, David C. McDowell was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Madison County Coroner.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Darrel Hutchison.
