Drugs, Needles with Syringes & Cash Seized in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shawn Jackson along with Deputy Tommy Houston, Deputy Shannon Jones, Bailiff Taylor McDaniel, and CSO Kyle House arrested three individuals in a business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 10 miles south of London early Sunday morning September 11, 2016 at approximately 4:48 AM.

The three arrests occurred after deputies observed smoke coming out from under a gray colored Infiniti near gas pumps at a service station and deputies stopped to investigate.

During the investigation deputies determined that the driver was under the influence. Two other individuals were also determined to be under the influence.

Deputies also located pills, two needles with syringes that the driver stated she had been shooting up meth with, and a large amount of US currency.

Arrested was:

  • Lindsey Johnson age 22 Of Terrell St., London charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; operating on suspended or revoked operators license; failure to wear seatbelts; failure to signal; and numerous other traffic offenses.

    In addition this subject was charged with illegal possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies also seized the gray colored 2006 Infiniti this subject had been driving.

  • Michael S. McCormick age 32 Of Terrell St., Corbin charged with public intoxication – controlled substances and resisting arrest.

    In addition, this subject was charged on a warrant for failure to appear in court

  • Caleb Brodie Johnson age 19 of North Hwy. 1223, Corbin charged with public intoxication – controlled substances.
  • All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
